Dhaka: At least one person died after a trainer aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) crashed near Dhaka on Monday, July 21. According to reports, Chinese made F-7 of the BAF crashed into the campus of Milestone School and College in Uttara. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
The death toll is expected to rise. Four people were also reportedly injured in the crash. "An F-7 BGI training aircraft took off at 1:06 pm today and crashed into the college campus soon after," the defence ministry said in a statement. Dramatic visuals after the crash surfaced online.

After receiving the information fire tenders reached the spot. A rescue operation is currently underway. Ambulances and air force helicopters were also rushed to the scene.
After crashing, the aircraft caught fire. "The training aircraft crashed at the Milestone School and College in Diabari. Our team has recovered one body. The Air Force has rescued four people with injuries and taken them away," bdnews24 quoted Lima Khanam, duty officer at the Fire Service Central Control Room, as saying.
A spokesperson from Milestone School and College confirmed that the aircraft crashed near the school gate while classes were in session, reported ANI.
The cause of the crash is yet to be ascertained.
