Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for killing over a dozen Pakistan Army soldiers in an attack on the Dri Nishtar check post in Angoor Adda, South Waziristan, according to reports. However, the Pakistan Army has reportedly acknowledged only four soldiers' deaths, including Lieutenant Danyal, with seven others injured.

Notably, senior Afghan Taliban commander Saeedullah Saeed has publicly condemned the TTP for carrying out attacks in Pakistan from Afghan soil.

Warning that only an emir has the authority to declare jihad, he labelled the TTP as "un-Islamic."

At a police graduation ceremony on Wednesday, Saeed stated that unauthorised military operations across borders violate Islamic law and constitute unlawful holy war. He explained that militant groups often misuse the term 'jihad' to justify armed conflicts against those they perceive as enemies.

Saeed stressed that defying the Islamic Emirate's directive against launching attacks in Pakistan amounts to a breach of religious duty. He warned that jihad driven by personal or factional motives leads to chaos and disorder.

"When the state has forbidden travel to Pakistan, disobeying that order constitutes a violation of religious obligation," he said, though he did not elaborate on the specifics of the prohibition.
