Aiyyo Shraddha is one name that every Indian loves. This PM-awarded comedienne, whose real name is Shraddha Jain, is an engineer and former RJ turned content creator. Her comedy style encompasses clean and observational humour, as well as unmistakable sincerity. In 2024, she received the title of ‘Most Creative Creator – Female’ at the National Creators Awards ceremony and got it from PM Narendra Modi.

She now brings her Global Comedy Hit ‘So Mini Things’ to Mumbai. It has won hearts across three continents, in 10 countries, and over 45 cities. This stand-up comedy special takes its final bow on home soil in Mumbai with two shows at 4 PM and 7.30 PM on July 19 at Shanmukhananda Hall, Sion East. It is produced by Livetree Entertainment, with the India tour that started in Delhi and Pune. This comedy set by Shraddha is from the charming curiosity of a two-year-old. It takes many quirky detours, from mini perspectives to mini versions of herself. It is a collage of anecdotes drawn from Indian family life.

Speaking about organising the event with Shraddha, Sharath Vatsa – CEO and Founder of Livetree Entertainment, reveals, “From the time we conceptualised it, I was sure to take this set to global audiences, as I was very confident this is content that would appeal to all Indians globally. Her work is extremely special for the audiences we targeted, as it is relatable, clean comedy. It is the story of a middle-class girl growing up and how to look at the funny side of life. This was extremely liked by the audiences, and they treated her like their own. The kind of love that was showered on her was something to see and admire.”

Excerpts from the interview:

Give us a brief about what the audience can expect while watching 'So Mini Things'.

I think they can expect to catch up with someone they've never met but have grown up together, and laugh, remembering those fun times we've had!

How did its concept come up? How much of its content comes from your own life?

Most of the material is from my experiences, and I felt it was a good starting point to begin my relationship with my audience as a stand-up comedian.

How has the response been so far for 'So Mini Things' since you have taken it all over the globe, apart from India?

The response has been beyond my expectations. I try not to think about how fabulous this adventure has been because one can get too attached to love like this. And then there's the pressure one brings upon oneself to have more of it! It can be so addictive! It feels like I am performing in a different city only till I take the stage. As soon as I am on stage, it's just home.

Your content connects with people from all backgrounds and age groups.

I think it's because I am not actively trying to connect to a specific age group. I am surprised to hear kids and the Gen A and millennials all laugh at the same bit and wonder, ‘how did they all get this?’.

How tough is it to keep your content clean and funny at the same time?

I don’t think I have thought too much about ‘clean’; I have never really had to. It's like not thinking about a language you don't know or don't have to speak in. Like they say in sports, play your natural game!

How important are awards for creators like you?

It was a very big deal for me, mainly because of how much joy and pride the award brought my family, the people of my hometown, my mentors and friends and my online community! Everyone was so proud! I will always be a content creator!

Lastly, how do you see content creation moving ahead in India in, say, three to four years?

Oh, I wish I knew! I only know that I will continue to make original content the way I can do best. I will work on production quality and acquire the latest skills in graphics and video editing.
