A man working at a top law firm has made headlines for resigning his high-paying position to prioritise his family. A 32-year-old lawyer, who earned approximately $900,000 annually (Rs. 7.8 LPA), quit his role after he was asked to relocate to another city just when his wife was eight months pregnant.

An X user and real estate personality, Nick Huber, shared this incident online recollecting his interaction with the said litigation lawyer. Huber kept the identity of the lawyer unrevealed while narrating how he chose to be with his wife rather than adhering to the company's decision of moving into another city.

Asked to move to another city or resign

It was learned the resignation came after an initial discussion with his senior, who failed to listen and consider his request about the relocation when his wife needed his support.

"He got assigned a case in another city when his wife was 8 months pregnant. He told the senior partner he couldn’t miss the birth and asked for an exception. The partner gave him a lecture and told him he needed to work through it", Huber posted.

"Told his boss to F off"

When his request for his wife's sake was denied, he was asked to put down his papers. He chose to resign immediately, reportedly telling his boss to "f off."

"They told him it was either miss the birth or walk away. He quit on the spot and told his boss to F off", Huber wrote narrating the case in his now-viral post.

Netizens support the man's decision

This incident highlights the challenges faced by employees when personal and professional responsibilities clash. The post received many reactions, mainly condemning the company for its call.

Netizens stood by the decision taken by the lawyer and said, "He made the right choice".

Taking note of the lawyer's story, X user 'SMB Attorney' felt the man deserved a job and offered him an opportunity at his workplace.
