Heavy rains increase the risk of tree falls and slippery roads, often leading to accidents.
In a recent incident in Bengaluru’s Banashankari area, a 29-year-old man named Akshay tragically lost his life after a tree branch fell on him while he was riding his two-wheeler.
He was returning home from a meat shop and had just entered a lane near his house in Srinivas Nagar when the branch suddenly crashed down onto the road, striking him and causing severe injuries. Though he was rushed to the hospital, he died a few days later after suffering a cardiac arrest.
The chilling visuals from the street when the branch collapsed and hit Akshay have surfaced online.

No helmet; skull shattered into 12 pieces
The deceased was identified as an HR executive. As per the visuals, he was riding without a helmet. The accident reportedly shattered his skull into 12 pieces.
Dies after 5 days of treatment
He was admitted at the Apollo Hospital in Jayanagar after initial medical care at Prashanth Hospital in Thyagarajanagar. He was declared brain dead on the fifth day of his intensive treatment at the healthcare.
Akshay was struck by the tree branch on June 15 and he was declared dead on Thursday afternoon.
Netizens believe the seriousness of the accident could have been reduced if Akshay had worn a helmet. “Wearing a helmet would have certainly helped reduce the impact of the head injury,” one wrote. “We often ignore wearing a helmet while going to nearby places, and this video is a wake-up call for all of us. We should always wear a helmet, no matter how far we are going,” another commented.
