A Jaipur-based writer Kartik B found himself at the receiving end of a love-struck message, not on a dating app, but on LinkedIn, where people usually hold professional networking goals.

Kartik, who calls himself a “pre-GPT era writer,” shared a screenshot of the surprise email on LinkedIn, captioning it cheekily: “LinkedIn is the new Tinder / Bumble Inc. / Hinge, they say.” And judging by the message he received, it might just be true.

In the email, the unknown admirer called Kartik their “little crush”—a line that immediately breaks LinkedIn’s usual suit-and-tie tone.

The sender confessed that they didn’t know Kartik personally but had seen him on the job search platform and couldn’t resist reaching out.

"Got a little crush on you"

“We don’t know each other but you caught my eye on LinkedIn and I just wanted to say hi and try not to be weird about it,” the email reads. “I first saw you on LinkedIn, and thought you were really very cute and got a little crush on you", the email read.

The message continued with an earnest gush of admiration, “Looking at you gives me those good vibes so you deserve to feel special at least. If you’re with someone, I apologise for my behaviour. Just wanted you to know this. Btw your portfolio is cool af."

LinkedIn post goes viral

Though Kartik didn’t respond to the LinkedIn user who had a crush on him, keeping the status of his love life a mystery, he did post the screenshot, leaving it up to his followers to react.

"People whose screenshots go viral on LinkedIn would definitely be crying after seeing this", one user commented.

"Does this work? Asking for a friend," another wrote.
