Be it Bollywood movies or usual gossips, you might have come across people talking about the rush at the Kumbh Mela and how it leads families members getting separated from each other. 'Kumbh ke mela mein bichadna' is a thing that every person in Indian families has heard about. Taking this plot on a different level, two sisters from Jharkhand have made the headlines for ensuring they got part ways during their visit to the grand festival at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
Maha Kumbh Mela started welcoming devotees on January 13. In the wake of this celebration, where people come from across India and different parts of the world to take a holy dip in the Ganges, the photo of two sisters from Jharkhand has gone viral. Named Sita and Lalitha, the duo gathered at the festival venue by tying each other with a ribbon.
To ensure their visit doesn't result into a Bollywood movie plot showing visitors at the Kumbh Mela getting lost and separated from their relatives, they tied each other with a ribbon.
They didn't literally try their entire bodies to stay close to each other. Instead, Sita and Lalitha used a ribbon around their bangles. They visited the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 by tying a long red ribbon across into their bangles.
Sita and Lalitha (being dubbed as 'Gita' in few reports) pulled out a satin ribbon and tied it to their bangles. They linked each other's bangles using this string to ensure they didn't get separated amid the huge rush.

Maha Kumbh is considered to be the world's largest gathering where 45 crore people come together to take the holy dip in the Ganga River.
While Kumbh Mela occurs every year, this year, we are celebrating the Maha Kumbh Mela after more than 100 years. The festival has opened its doors for devotees on January 13 and will continue welcoming them until Maha Shivrati (February 26).
