A viral video shared by Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Parveen Kaswan has left viewers both amazed and reflective — not just for what was caught on camera, but for how it unfolded.
In the clip, an elephant is seen approaching an electric fence in its path. What happens next showcases not just strength, but remarkable intelligence. Instead of turning back or charging through, the elephant takes a calculated approach to overcome the barrier without getting harmed.
The elephant uses its trunk to carefully push down a wooden pillar holding the high-voltage wires. After the wires fall, it flips the structure to ensure the lines are neutralized, then calmly proceeds forward. Yes, it simply dismantles the whole fencing to walk ahead.

Kaswan posted the clip on X, captioning it: "This elephant is masters in physics. See how intelligently it neutralised power fence. We also have documented many such incidents, soon study will be published." Kaswan hinted at a larger pattern of behaviour being studied by experts.
While the claims of the fence being charged were made by the IFS officer, FPJ couldn't individually verify the authenticity of the undated clip.
With over 600,000 views, the video has sparked widespread admiration. Many users dubbed the animal a “genius elephant".

One user wrote, "Elephants are intelligent animals :) my full time job doesnt allow me to spend much time with them but this is my post early retirement plan:) give them their rightful place on earth".
“Elephants always outsmart us. In Kerala, they’ve levelled trenches and toppled trees onto fences to walk over them,” another user recounted.
The video also triggered concern over electrified fencing in areas where wildlife roamed. “Why are such fences permitted at all?” one asked. “Isn’t this dangerous for the animals?” another echoed.
