Today is World Pasta Day and here's something that should never happen to a pasta lover. An Australian woman who emptied a bag of spinach into her cooking pan received a shock after spotting a dead frog falling into the kitchen tool. She expressed feeling traumatised after allegedly finding the carcass of the reptile in the vegetable bag.
Spinach-Pasta dish goes wrong
Identified as Simone Baker posted a video on TikTok to report the incident. She wanted others to note the negligence of the grocery outlet Woolworths from where she had purchased a spinach pack for her meal. While she was preparing pasta, she unpacked the vegetable bag and added spinach leaves to the pan. It was only then she discovered something was fishy and 'froggy.'
Posts ordeal on social media
In the TikTok video, Simone shared visuals of the dead frog resting on her mouthwatering pasta dish. "Woolies (Woolworths) the fresh food people, quite literally a fresh frog in my spinach. Can’t get much fresher than that," she wrote on the social media platform. "Never been so excited to eat dinner in my life until I saw that," she added sarcastically flaunting what was cooking at her place.
Company responds
Reacting to the incident, a company representative said: "This appears to be an isolated incident. We work with a number of Australian spinach growers take food safety very seriously and have rigorous processes to maintain our product quality."
