CM to dedicate MPTDCs AC video coach service on Monday

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan will flag- off the air- conditioned video coach bus between Ujjain and Omkareshwar here on Monday. Thi
s bus service of the MP Tourism Development Corporation ( TDC) would facilitate pilgrims and tourists to complete the to- and- fro journey of two Jyotirlinga temples of the country in just 13 hours and that too on paying merely Rs 260 per person.
Informing it at a press conference at Hotel Shipra Residency here on Saturday, MPTDC chairman Mohan Yadav said that the bus permit for the proposed service has been taken on experimental basis for four months and will be extended for the whole year after assessing the response.
He said that the bus will be 23- seater and 10 of its seats will be reserved for the journey up to Indore, for which only Rs 50 will be charged from a passenger.
Booking for the bus ticket will be made from counters opened at Mahakaleshwar Temple, Railway Station and MPTDCs Hotel Shipra Residency and Avantika.
During rush days, extra video coach buses will also be run.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan will launch the facility at a programme to be held at 2.30 pm at Mahakaleshwar Temple premises and saints and Vedic children will be first among the passengers.
According to Yadav, the MPTDC will soon launch Karwan vehicle from Ujjain.
The vehicle would be fully air- conditioned and have 7 seats so that a family can travel to desired destination at the rate of Rs 18 per km. 10 percent rebate on the charge will be given to interested passengers.
He informed that 100- bed alt145 budgetalt39hotels will be constructed at four places of the State including Ujjain.
Likewise, a sum of Rs 10 crore has been sanctioned to develop Jain pilgrimage centers including Ujjains Avanti Parshwanath Mandir.
He also said that efforts have been made to take over the Maharajwada School near Mahakaleshwar Temple for converting it into a hotel owing to its glorious marvel. Besides, preparations were in final stage to start water sports activities at Gambhir Reservoir and night plane landing facility at Datana Airstrip.
