Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios recently took to Instagram to share his thoughts on Jannik Sinner's three-month doping ban. Sinner, the world's top-ranked tennis player, accepted the ban after testing positive for the banned substance clostebol.

In his Instagram story, Kyrgios expressed his surprise and disappointment at the news, questioning how Sinner could have inadvertently ingested the substance.

“To the future generation tennis players - after today, you can dope, just ‘without knowing’.... Test positive, play through all the investigation, then settle on a convenient 3 month ban, not get stripped of any money or titles and carry on."

“Sad day for me - someone who has played this sport since I was 7 years old, battled injury after injury and have given a shit load to this sport. I pray that kids that play this sport do it the right way” he wrote.

Nick Kyrgios has strongly criticized the WADA settlement that handed Jannik Sinner a three-month ban, arguing it's too lenient as the world No. 1 won't forfeit any titles or prize money despite violating anti-doping rules.

Nick Kyrgios and Jannik Sinner are not 'The best of friends'

The world number one Jannik Sinner has accepted a 3-month ban after reaching a settlement with WADA, following a positive test for the banned substance clostebol in March 2024, resulting from an anti-doping rule violation.

Nick Kyrgios has made his intention clear on the whole Jannik Sinner doping ban scenario via his Instagram story. The Australian clearly does not have a healthy relationship with the Italian player and his recent comments reflects the same.

Nick Kyrgios' comments sparked a lively debate among tennis fans, with some defending Sinner's position and others criticizing the Italian player's carelessness.

As the tennis world continues to grapple with the implications of Sinner's ban, Kyrgios' comments serve as a reminder that doping remains a serious issue in professional sports
