Magar had qualified for U-17 semifinal also; Wagh resists a spirited fight back from Memon to prevail in quarters

Parth Magar (NSCI) marched into the semifinals of the Boys U-19 category after beating Jehan Kolah (NSCI UTT) 3-1 in the quarterfinal match of the third 4 Star Ranking Table Tennis Tournament-2025 at Willingdon Sports Club on Wednesday. Magar who had also reached the U-17 semifinals on Tuesday, continued his form to overcome Jehan 14-12, 10-12, 11-4, 12-10 after a tough match.

Another NSCI paddler Arnav Wagh defied a spirited challenge from Mohammed Nuraz Memon (PDTTA) to win 3-2 and join Parth in the semifinals. Wagh was leading 2-0 but Memon came back nicely to level the match 2-2. However, Wagh kept his nerves to bag the match 11-8, 11-8, 8-11, 13-15, 11-8 eventually. Aaditya Dalal and Vidhate Shivam scored straight set victories to reach semifinals. Dalal (NSCI-UTT)defeated Kush Patil 11-5, 11-4, 11-9 and Shivam (FAGN) prevailed over Neil Mulye (INDV) 11-6, 11-9, 11-9 in their quarterfinal matches.

Anoushka Patil (PNCL) rallied to overcome the challenge of Manasi Chiplunkar (Boosters) 3-1 (2-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-8). Anoushka had no answers in the first set but made a stunning comeback to take the next three sets to bag the women's singles quarterfinal match.

Songadkar Arya (PTTA) had comparatively easy outing against Anshita Tamhankar (Spinart) prevailing in straight sets 11-7, 11-9, 11-5 to join Anoushka in the semifinals.
