In shocking news from the world of Formula 1 Red Bull F1 team decided to pull the plug on their team principal Christian Horner after his 20 years of service to the team. According to multiple media reports, Laurent Mekies has been appointed as CEO of Red Bull Racing, stepping up from the Racing Bulls team.

Who is Christian Horner?
Horner had been Red Bull team principal since it entered F1 as a full constructor in 2005. He made history as the youngest Formula 1 team principal when he took charge of Red Bull Racing at just 31 years old.
During his tenure, Horner oversaw eight F1 drivers’ titles four for Sebastian Vettel and four for Max Verstappen and six constructors’ titles during his time with the team.
According to details provided by website sports.smallteaser.com, Horner initially pursued a career as a driver, competing in the British Formula Renault Championship, British Formula 2, and British Formula 3. However, after struggling to make significant progress in the sport, he stepped away from racing in 1997 at the age of 25 and shifted his focus toward team management.
In January 1996, Horner founded the Arden International team, using borrowed money, including a loan from his father. He persuaded Roly Vincini, the founder of P1 Motorsport, to become the team’s race engineer and even purchased a second-hand trailer from Helmut Marko, who was leading Red Bull’s junior team at the time.
By the early 2000s, Arden had gained traction, winning races in the Italian Formula 3000 and securing podium finishes in the international series. Darren Manning, who joined the team in 2000, helped Arden achieve its first pole position and multiple podiums.
In 2002, Arden reached new heights, winning the Formula 3000 team championship.
Christian Horner's personal life
In 2015, Horner married Spice Girl Geri Halliwell. The two share son Monty, and Horner also has a daughter, Olivia, from his previous marriage to Beverley Allen. He is also the stepfather of Halliwell’s daughter Bluebell, whom she shares with ex Sacha Gervasi.

Horner, the team principal and CEO of Red Bull racing, was last year accused earlier this year of sending racy text messages to a subordinate female employee of the team.
While Red Bull initially did not reveal any further details, a document loaded with screenshots of sexually suggestive text messages soon leaked.
Red Bull concluded its investigation at the end of February and cleared Horner of any wrongdoing. While clarifying that his accuser has the right to appeal, Red Bull expressed confidence in the fairness of its investigation.
ESPN reported on Thursday, March 7, that the female employee who accused Horner of inappropriate behavior had been suspended from Red Bull Racing due to findings of the investigation. The employee was suspended with full pay and still has the right to appeal Horner’s innocent verdict.
