RCB skipper Rajat Patidar offered prayers at Ujjain's Mahakal Temple along with his wife and kid. The last time the Madhya Pradesh cricketer visited the temple was after leading Royal Challengers Bengaluru to their maiden IPL title in June. Patidar had become the first Indian player and captain to win the maiden IPL trophy without playing a single T20I for the national team. The visuals of his visit has gone viral on social media

Rajat Patidar's cricket journey with RCB

Rajat joined RCB in 2021. In his first season, he scored only 71 runs in 4 matches and was released. He went unsold in 2022 but returned as a mid-season replacement. In the 2022 eliminator match, he scored an unbeaten 112 against Lucknow Super Giants.

He missed IPL 2023 due to injury but was retained. In IPL 2024, he scored 395 runs in 13 innings at an average of 30.38 and a strike rate of 177.13. He hit five fifties in the latestseason.

Under his calm and confident leadership, RCB found new energy and direction. Rajat led by example, not just with tactics, but also with his steady performances with the bat. And finally, in IPL 2025, he brought home the trophy that RCB fans had been waiting for since the league began in 2008.

Rajat Patidar's domestic success

Rajat captained Madhya Pradesh from 2019 to 2024 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He won 12 out of 16 matches. In the 2024–25 edition, MP reached the final but lost to Mumbai. KKR’s vice-captain Venkatesh Iyer also played in this series.
