Australian tennis star Alex de Minaur won the Washington Open in an incredible comeback, saving three match points to beat Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. It was a thrilling final that went down to the wire.

De Minaur lost the first set 5–7, but came back strong to win the second set 6–1. In the third and final set, he was down 4–1 and faced three chances where his opponent could’ve won the match. But de Minaur stayed calm, fought hard, and won the match in a tiebreak: 5–7, 6–1, 7–6 (7-3).

This is de Minaur’s 10th career title, and it pushes him back into the world’s top 10 players, now ranked No. 8. After the match, Davidovich Fokina was heartbroken. He sat in his chair with tears in his eyes, upset that he missed his chance to win a first-ever title. De Minaur showed great sportsmanship by sitting beside him and comforting him.

In his speech, he praised Fokina, saying, “You’re way too good not to win one of these. Your time will come.” Fokina also praised de Minaur’s fighting spirit, saying, “He was fighting every f****** ball.”

This win means a lot to de Minaur, especially before the US Open, which starts on August 24. He will now head into that tournament with a lot of confidence and momentum.

She won the first set comfortably and stayed calm in the second, even when things got tight. In the end, she broke Tauson’s serve to win the match.

Bella’s surprise run onto the court was caught on camera, and the video quickly went viral on social media. Fans loved seeing a lighter, more personal moment in the middle of a serious tournament. Kalinskaya smiled, picked Bella up, and waved to the fans, a special memory for everyone watching.

This win was also extra sweet for Kalinskaya because she had lost to Tauson a few weeks earlier at Wimbledon. Now she’s in the semifinals and will face Emma Raducanu next.
