Team India stars Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Hardik Pandya and Yashasvi Jaiswal were spotted at Ahmedabad airport leaving for their respective homes after their commanding win over England in the third and final ODI on Wednesday. In a video surfaced on social media, people were screaming Kohli's name as a handful of security personnel surrounded him.
Kohli found some semblance of form after his recent struggles in the dead-rubber game against England in Ahmedabad, scoring 52 off 55 deliveries before wrist-spinner Adil Rashid got the better of him. While the 36-year-old finished the series only with 57 runs under his belt, there is a hope that the former Indian captain will be at his best during the Champions Trophy 2025, which commences on February 19.
Below is the video of Indian cricketers being spotted at the Ahmedabad airport after the game:
"It's very, very pleasing" - Rohit Sharma
With India sealing the ODI series 3-0, skipper Rohit Sharma credited his side for responding well to every challenge thrown at them. Although Rohit feels there are some things that need addressing but expects the side to evolve in the coming weeks.
"It's very, very pleasing. We knew there would be challenges, we came out well, responding to whatever was thrown at us. I don't see there was anything that we did wrong in this series. There are certain things we are looking at but I am not going to stand here and discuss about it. The players are comfortable having those chats. It is our job to keep some consistency within the squad and the communication is clear. In terms of skills, nothing I can discuss. Obviously a champion team wants to get better every game and move forward."
The Men in Blue's Champions Trophy 2025 campaign begins on February 20 against Bangladesh.
