South Africa's hard-hitting phenomenon Heinrich Klaasen has made his way into the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) camp ahead of the upcoming season of the IPL. The keeper-batter was seen posing with his bat in Baahubali style as the franchise shared an official video of the same on social media on March 18, Tuesday.
Klaasen was retained for a hefty price of ₹21 crore ahead of the mega auction that took place in November 2024 in Saudi Arabia. Having snapped by the SunRisers ahead of IPL 2024 for ₹5.25 crore, the 33-year-old slammed 479 runs in 16 matches last year and played an integral role in their road to the final. Hence, the owners decided to retain him ahead of IPL 2025 along with skipper Pat Cummins, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma.
The Pretoria-born cricketer was also the second-highest six-hitter in IPL 2024 with 38.
SunRisers Hyderabad had made it to their first final in IPL 2024 after six years
The 2024 edition proved to be the first final in six years that the SunRisers had reached since 2018. However, the Kolkata Knight Riders proved too strong for them, blowing them by eight wickets while chasing down 113.
