Israel Adesanya and Kelvin Gastelum's UFC 236 fight is said to be inducted into the UFC Hall Of Fame. Both the fighters showcased incredible skills in their Middleweight match up.
The UFC today announced that the classic 2019 fight between star middleweights Israel Adesanya and Kelvin Gastelum will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame’s Fight Wing as a part of the class of 2025. The 2025 UFC Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place this summer in Las Vegas and will be streamed live on UFC FIGHT PASS.
Serving as the co-main event of UFC 236: HOLLOWAY vs. POIRIER 2, which took place on April 19, 2019, at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, both Adesanya and Gastelum entered the event for the interim middleweight title on winning streaks of 16 and two, respectively.
On that night, Adesanya and Gastelum battled in a thriller that went back and forth for five rounds, with Adesanya winning the fight by a close unanimous decision to grab his first piece of the UFC 185-pound title.
“The fight between Israel Adesanya and Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 236 was one of the greatest fights I’ve ever seen in my life,” said UFC CEO Dana White. “This was an absolute war with the interim title on the line. Congrats to Israel Adesanya and Kelvin Gastelum on a fight that will always be remembered!”

Former rivals Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira sit together at UFC 312
The MMA community was shocked when Israel Adesanya was spotted seated next to Alex Pereira at UFC 312. In a photo shared by ‘The Last Stylebender’ on Instagram, it can be seen that Adesanya is sitting next to Alex Pereira and Pereira’s head coach Plinio Cruz.
Pereira and Adesanya have competed against each other four times: twice in kickboxing and twice in MMA. Pereira went 2-0 against Adesanya in kickboxing, but the two fighters split results in MMA.
The MMA fans were expecting to witness a trilogy bout between the duo, but it seems like both the fighters have made amends.
