The video of Karthik talking to Kohli had gone viral, and fans had mixed reactions. Some found it interesting, while others questioned what Karthik could possibly be telling a legend like Kohli. Atherton playfully said, "In the final, what I noticed was, in a strategic timeout, you spent a long time telling Virat Kohli what to do. He was at the crease and you spent a long time, I saw you there, pointing at him, and I think he was out the very next over, after your five-minute lecture." He continued by joking, “Tell me what you said to him?”
Hussain joined in the fun and added, “It’s the first time you don’t have an answer, you’re silent.” Karthik laughed along and admitted he couldn’t even remember what he said to Kohli at that moment. He said it was the toughest question he had ever been asked on a podcast.
This fun banter happened after RCB (Royal Challengers Bengaluru) won their first-ever IPL title, with Karthik playing the role of team mentor. While Kohli played well, scoring 43 off 35 balls, he was dismissed soon after that timeout, which made Atherton’s joke even more humorous.

The Pataudi Trophy, introduced in 2007, was named in honour of Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, one of India’s most respected Test captains, and his father Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi, who uniquely represented both England and India in Test cricket. The trophy symbolized a rich historical link between the two cricketing nations.
Recently, the BCCI and ECB decided to rename the trophy to honour Tendulkar and James Anderson, England’s highest wicket-taker in Tests. While the new name celebrates modern greats, many fans and experts felt it overlooked the historical significance of the Pataudi name.
Understanding the importance of tradition, Tendulkar personally reached out to senior officials in both boards and also had discussions with Jay Shah, the secretary of the BCCI and ICC chairman.
