The one-week suspension of the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to Operation Sindoor has sent shockwaves through Indian domestic cricket, delaying not just the IPL itself, but also the return of the T20 Mumbai League.
After a successful start in 2018 and 2019, the T20 Mumbai League was all set to make its long-awaited return in 2025, with matches scheduled from May 27 to June 8 at the Wankhede Stadium. A grand opening ceremony was planned for May 26, signalling a strong comeback after five years.
However, the delayed IPL season, now ending on June 3 has forced the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to push back its schedule. According to BCCI rules, no domestic or intra-state league is allowed to clash with the IPL.
