Team India skipper Rohit Sharma dropped his gloves in front of the Indian team's dugout after notching another low score on day four of the third Test against Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane. As a result, fans have speculated that the veteran is set to announce his retirement from the format.

The 37-year-old opening batter was the first to depart on day four as Pat Cummins picked up his second wicket, getting to nick off the visiting captain behind the stumps. Rohit's dismissal was similar to that of Virat Kohli as the veteran duo fiddled with a delivery outside off-stump only to nick off to the keeper. It was also the second time that Cummins had dismissed his opposite number in the series and on the sixth occasion in Tests.
Below is how the netizens have reacted to Rohit Sharma leaving his gloves in the dugout:
Rohit Sharma only has one half-century in his last ten innings
Meanwhile, the Nagpur-born cricketer has scored only one half-century in his last ten Test innings and it last came during the previous series against New Zealand on home soil. Rohit missed the first Test in Perth as Jasprit Bumrah captained the tourists to a massive 295-run win and a series lead.
With KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal forging a successful opening stand in the second innings in Perth, Rohit did not open after returning in Adelaide and batted at six, notching up two single-figure scores. With KL Rahul scoring a gritty 84 in Brisbane, Rohit is unlikely to open in the upcoming Test too.
