Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Phil Salt produced a fielding brilliance when they needed it desperately in the IPL 2025 final against the Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Englishman took an outstanding relay catch to break the opening partnership, sending Priyansh Arya packing for a brisk 24 off 19 deliveries.

The moment occurred when Josh Hazlewood came on to bowl his second over of the innings and Arya flicked the ball on the on-side. Salt, stationed at deep square leg region, covered massive ground and took it before tossing it in the air and returned inside the boundary line to take the catch.

Watch the video of the catch below:

Salt failed to deliver as per expectations with the bat, managing only 16 off 9 deliveries before Kyle Jamieson dismissed him. Although Virat Kohli top-scored with 43, he consumed 35 deliveries for that knock. It was a litany of what ifs for Bengaluru as the highest partnership of their innings was 40.
