This seasoned five-year-old bay gelding, trained by champion handler Pesi Shroff, carries an impressive résumé that includes three solid victories and several credible performances, including a close seventh behind the winner in a high-class field. Judging by his recent track work, Constable appears to be in peak racing condition, making him a strong favourite for this second graded event of the season at this iconic venue.
The race, to be contested over a challenging seven-furlong journey, has attracted a compact but competitive field of seven runners. Among them, Constable’s stablemate Jade is expected to mount the most serious challenge, having shown consistent form in recent outings.
