Hyderabad, August 04: Hyderabad MP and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi praised Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj for his stunning performance in the final and fifth test against England at The Oval. Owaisi took to his official social media account and hailed the Hyderabad lad's performance in a unique Hyderabadi style.

Asaduddin Owaisi shared a GIF of Mohammed Siraj on his official X account and said, "Always a winner @mdsirajofficial! As we say in Hyderabadi, poora khol diye Pasha!"

Telangana MLA and BRS leader KT Rama Rao also praised the Indian pacer and said, "What a splendid win and definitely one that will be remembered for a long time Test cricket at it’s absolute finest @mdsirajofficial take a bow for your lionhearted performance. Congratulations to Skipper Gill and the entire team on their success in the Test series."

Mohammed Siraj had a spectacular five-match test series against England in which he claimed 23 wickets. He was also announced the Man of the Match for his stunning performance in the final test, which ended in a nail-biting finish on the last day.

Mohammed Siraj claimed five wickets in the second innings, out of which he took three wickets on the final day of the test match. England needed only 57 runs on the last day of the game and had four wickets in hand. However, Siraj's heroics won the game for India and Team India managed to level the Anderson-Tendulkar series 2-2.

Siraj also claimed four wickets in the first inning of the match due to which England was all out for 247 in reply to India's 224 in the first inning. In the second inning, riding on Yashasvi Jaiswal's century India scored 396 and set a target of 374 runs. England were 301 for 3 when their batting lineup collapsed, and they were eventually bowled out for 367.

The trophy named after the cricketing legends James Anderson and Sachin Tendulkar was introduced as a replacement for the Pataudi Trophy, which marked 75 years of first India vs England Test series played in India, and Anthony de Mello Trophy, which was named after a former president of the BCCI.
