The countdown has begun for one of the most anticipated athletics events of the year the Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025, scheduled for May 24 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. Tickets for the event went live on Friday, igniting excitement among athletics enthusiasts across the country.

Named after India’s Olympic and World Champion javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, the high-stakes competition promises a thrilling evening of elite international and domestic talent. The main event begins at 6:30 PM IST, with gates opening at 5 PM, giving fans ample time to soak in the atmosphere of top-tier track and field action.

List of athletes taking part in Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025

The Indian contingent will be led by Chopra himself and includes a strong lineup featuring Kishore Jena, Sachin Yadav, Rohit Yadav, and Sahil Silwal. Jena, a silver medallist at the 2023 Asian Games, holds a personal best of 87.54m and is expected to be one of the top contenders alongside Chopra.

The international contingent will be headlined by Anderson Peters of Grenada, a two-time world champion with a PB of 93.07m, and Thomas Röhler of Germany, the 2016 Olympic gold medallist, who boasts a PB of 93.90m. Also competing is Julius Yego of Kenya, the 2015 world champion, known for his PB of 92.72m.

Curtis Thompson of the USA the current season leader with a throw of 87.76m along with Genki Dean (Japan), Rumesh Pathirage (Sri Lanka), and Luiz Mauricio da Silva (Brazil), all with personal bests exceeding 84m will be part of this event.
