A few section of fans argued that the ball Rohit Sharma got out to was a no ball, claiming that Marcus Stoinis had overstepped in the IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 clash between the Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings in Ahmedabad. A close video of the same has emerged on social media, bringing in the dismissal into the scanner.
The dismissal occurred in the third over of the innings as Shreyas Iyer brought on Stoinis to bowl despite Arshdeep Singh delivering a tight first one. The former Mumbai Indians captain played a pull shot but did so in bigger part of the ground and it failed to carry it to the fence. As a result, Vijaykumar Vyshak took the catch comfortably, sending Rohit packing for 8. The veteran cricketer had notably been given a reprieve in the previous over when Azmatullah Omarzai dropped a fairly tough chance.
