Mumbai Indians opener Rohit Sharma has stunningly been offered two reprieves by the Gujarat Titans in two overs in the all-important IPL 2025 Eliminator on May 30 (Friday) in Mullanpur. Gerald Coetzee and Kusal Mendis failed to hold on to the chances offered by the right-handed batter in back-to-back overs.

The first drop came from Coetzee in the very second over bowled by Prasidh Krishna. With Rohit miscuing a pull shot, it went to the South African speedster at fine leg and he spilt it despite juggling the ball twice. Meanwhile, Kusal Mendis, who has replaced Jos Buttler behind the stumps, failed to hold on to the chance after Rohit attempted a hoick over the on-side against Mohammed Siraj.

The over following the second drop saw Jonny Bairstow take it to Prasidh Krishna's next over, belting 26 runs with two fours and as many sixes. It was R Sai Kishore, who gave the Titans their first breakthrough by getting rid of Bairstow for 47 off 22 deliveries.

Mumbai Indians win toss and Hardik Pandya opts to bat first

Meanwhile, the toss went in favour of the Mumbai Indians and Hardik Pandya opted to bat first. With Ryan Rickelton and Will Jacks returning home for international duty, Jonny Bairstow and Richard Gleeson made their debuts for the Mumbai Indians. Additionally, Raj Angad Bawa replaced the injured Deepak Chahar.

The Titans triggered two changes to their XI, bringing in Kusal Mendis for Jos Buttler and Washington Sundar for Arshad Khan.
