Rohit Sharma may have quietly bowed out of Test cricket earlier this month, but his fans are making sure his contributions don’t go unnoticed. On May 21, Wankhede is now set to become the center of a unique fan-driven farewell. The supporters of the Mumbai Indians skipper are planning to flood the Wankhede Stadium in white jerseys during the high-stakes MI Vs DC IPL 2025 clash.
Mumbai Indians Fan page posted a message on social media which said, "A Humble Request to everyone! For the next Ml match on 21 May, let's spread the word and invite all fans to wear Test whites as a tribute to our Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma! He inspired so many of us to fall in love with Test cricket & now it's our turn to honor him Whether it's a Test jersey or a simple plain white t-shirt.. Let's fill the stadium with a sea of white"

The timing of the tribute couldn’t be more dramatic Mumbai Indians are clinging to the fourth spot on the IPL table with 14 points, closely trailed by Delhi Capitals with 13. The outcome of this match could seal the final playoff spot.
If MI wins, they cruise into the playoffs. A loss opens the door for Delhi. And in case of a washout, the drama extends to the weekend, with both teams needing to win their final matches against Punjab Kings to stand a chance.
Before the fan tribute, the Mumbai Cricket Association had honoured the former Test and T20I skipper by naming a stand after his name to celebrate his achievements.
