Australian and Punjab Kings' keeper-batter Josh Inglis stunned Mumbai Indians' pacer Jasprit Bumrah by hammering him for 20 runs in an over during IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Bumrah held his hands on the head after the right-handed batter end his over with a maximum.
With Bumrah coming off an outstanding spell against the Gujarat Titans, Inglis started his first ball with a boundary, followed by another dot and a six. The second-last delivery of the over also went for a boundary and ended with a six over third man. Despite Reece Topley's reach being massive, it went over the Englishman's head, leaving the Mumbai Indians dazed.
Nevertheless, Inglis' innings was cut short by Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya dismissing the latter for 38 off 21 deliveries. The five-time champions have set the Punjab Kings 204 to win, with Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav chipping in with 44 runs each. Naman Dhir also contributed a 18-ball 37.
Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer wins toss and opts to field first
The toss at the gigantic Narendra Modi Stadium went in favour of Punjab Kings and Shreyas Iyer opted to bowl first against Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2 clash, citing overcast conditions at the venue. Both Punjab and Mumbai have confirmed one changes each, with the former bringing in Yuzvendra Chahal for Musheer Khan. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians have drafted in Reece Topley for the injured Richard Gleeson.
