India's U19 women's team secured their second consecutive T20 World Cup title with a commanding nine-wicket victory over South Africa at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur. Chasing a modest 83-run target, Trisha led the charge with an unbeaten 44, steering India to victory in just 11.2 overs.

The triumph marked India’s successful title defense, having won the previous edition under Richa Ghosh's captaincy. As the final run was scored, the entire Indian squad erupted in joy, sprinting onto the field, wrapped in the national flag, and celebrating their remarkable achievement.

India's Spin Attack Dominates

Earlier, India's spinners wreaked havoc on a slow pitch, sharing nine wickets among them and bowling South Africa out for just 82. South Africa, choosing to bat first, struggled against India's disciplined attack.

Trisha shone with the ball, picking up three wickets, while the left-arm spin trio of Parunika Sisodia, Aayushi Shukla, and Vaishnavi Sharma claimed two wickets each. Vaishnavi's performance in the tournament was outstanding, making her the leading wicket-taker with 17 scalps.

South Africa started aggressively, with Jemma Botha hitting two boundaries in the first over. However, Parunika struck early, dismissing Simone Lourens for a duck. Aayushi soon joined in, removing Diara Ramlakan as South Africa struggled to 29/3 at the end of the powerplay.

Captain Kayla Reyneke tried to counterattack but was caught at long-off, giving Trisha her first wicket. Aayushi later bowled Karabo Meso, reducing South Africa to 44/5.

A 30-run partnership between Fay Cowling and Mieke van Voorst offered brief resistance, but Trisha and Vaishnavi quickly wrapped up the innings. India’s dominant performance ensured an easy chase, securing a well-deserved title win.
