Despite the ball change granted for Team India, visiting captain Shubman Gill was visibly unhappy over ball change and got into an animated argument with the umpire on day two of the third Test at Lord's. A video of the same surfaced on social media as the umpire seemingly tried to calm down the right-handed batter.
The Dukes Ball has been largely in focus in the series due to going softer and out of shape quickly. Hence, both teams' bowling units have been consistently requesting the umpires to change the ball. Despite the ball change by the umpire in the 97th over, Gill was likely upset, seemingly due to the new ball being softer than the previous. An over and a half later, the umpire abided by India's request for another ball change.
