Ahead of the opening Test match at Leeds on June 20th, Team India will have the serice of pacer Harshit Rana at their disposal. The BCCI released a statement which said,"The Men's Selection Committee has added Harshit Rana to India's squad for the first Test in Leeds against England. Rana, who was a part of the India A squad, has linked up with the team as India begin preparations for the first Test. The Five-match Test series kicks off at Headingley, Leeds on June 20, 2025.
Rana will be part of the pace attack, which will be led by Jasprit Bumrah. The other bowlers in the attack include Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, and Prasidh Krishna.
Harshit Rana's previous performance
Rana last played Test cricket during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy earlier this year, which also marked his Test debut, where India suffered a series defeat to Australia, ultimately missing out on a place in the World Test Championship Final.
In that series, Rana picked up four wickets in the Adelaide Test but went wicketless in the match at Perth. Rana was recently involved in India A’s tour, featuring in two matches against the England Lions - and he bowled a 1/99 spell in the Canterbury clash.
