Defending champions Modern English School (MES) Chembur scored a massive 357 runs victory over Pawar Public School in the Giles Shield MSSA U-14 cricket tournament at Parsee Cyclist, Azad Maidan on Thursday.

Put into bat first, MES posted 382-9 in their allotted 45 overs. Right-handed opening batter Dhyairya Patil toped scored with a brilliant 122 off 79 balls, which included 23 boundaries and one maximum.

Vedang Mishra on the other end too smashed a century (106 with 18 fours). Shoumik picked a four-wicket haul. In reply, Pawar Public suffered a collapse and were 52 all out in 12 overs. Krish Patil grabbed 4/19 in four overs.

In another match at TOI, Azad Maidan, Sane Guruji English Medium School won their game by 124 defeating rivals Chandresh Lodha Memorial School. Batting first, Sane Guruji made 194 in 34.5 overs. Aryan Kadam was the star of the show due to his masterclass batting, which included 128 off 99 balls, with 20 fours and two maximums.

Aditya Patil picked (4/68) in his 15 overs spell. Coming out to chase down their total, Chandresh Lodha were bundled out for just 70 as off spinner Sairaj Mahadik stared with the ball, picking up 7/15 in just 5 overs

BD Somani International School won by 111 runs against St. Xaviers Mira Road at BMC Ground, Shivaji Park. Good batting performances from right-handed batters Vihaan Shah 69 and Darsh Agarwal 54 helped BD Somani post 219 in 39 overs. Off Spinner Prasad picked 4/29.

St. Xaviers were bundled out for 103 in chase. Offspinner, Aarav Ranjan picked a six-fer in 8 overs.
