Sai Sudharsan did not have a memorable debut for Team India in the ongoing first Test match against England in Leeds. The GT star departed for a four-ball duck in the first innings. Following the duck he became the first India batter in 15 years to register a duck in his debut Test innings. Wriddhiman Saha was the last batter who registered the unwanted record against South Africa in Nagpur. After that, R Ashwin and Umesh Yadav have done the same, but they weren’t recognised as batters.
In the second innings, he fared a little better, having scored 30 off 48 balls. The left-hander was dismissed by Ben Stokes in both innings.
Before coming in to bat in the second innings broadcaster's camera captured Sudarshan preparing himself before coming into bat. He looked at the ball and imagined the pitch, reflecting his mental readiness. Then he also wrote something in a notebook which was similar to Rahul Dravid’s preparations.

India regains narrow lead after England fightback
Day 3 of the ongoing first Test saw India taking a slender lead courtesy of Jasprit Bumrah's five-wicket haul. Harry Brook was unfortunate to get out on 99, having survived multiple dropped chances during his stay at the crease. Chris Woakes (38 runs) and Brydon Carse (22 runs) put on 55 runs for the 8th wicket. However, Indian bowlers ultimately bowled them out for 465 runs , gaining a lead of just six runs.
The visitors then managed to stretch their lead to 96 runs, while losing two wickets. England’s Carse removed Yashasvi Jaiswal for 4 with a brilliant delivery, and then Ben Stokes dismissed Sudharsan for the second time in the match.
At the end of Day 3 KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 47 and Shubman Gill remained unbeaten on 6 as India posted 90/2 at Stumps. The pair will resume batting on Day 4, with Rahul looking to get a ton.
