Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has slammed the BCCI for keeping the light show during the innings break in the ongoing 2023 World Cup. The swashbuckling batter blamed the light show for giving him headaches, but David Warner disagreed, stating that it creates an amazing atmosphere throughout the stadium.

Indian stadiums have incorporated the idea of light shows to provide some entertainment to the fans. With the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) stadium in Dharamshala, the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi also did the same during the Australia-Netherlands match on Wednesday.

During the post-match press conference, here's what Maxwell had to say about the light shows:

"I had something like that light show happen at Perth Stadium during a Big Bash game. I just felt like it gave me shocking headaches and it takes me a while for my eyes to re-adjust and I just think it's the dumbest idea for cricketers. So I just try and cover up as much as I possibly can and ignore it but it's a horrible, horrible idea. Great for the fans, horrible for the players."

Warner took to X and stated the below:

"I absolutely loved the light show, what an atmosphere. It’s all about the fans. Without you all we won’t be able to do what we love."

Glenn Maxwell smashes the fastest 100 in World Cup history:

Meanwhile, Maxwell was at his supreme best against the Netherlands, bringing up his ton off only 40 deliveries, surpassing Aiden Markram, who smacked a ton off 49 balls earlier in the tournament. His ton was integral in the five-time champions reaching 399 in 50 overs.

The Dutch folded for 90 as Adam Zampa took 4 scalps.
