The Nuggets big man has a bit of a reputation for pregame theatrics, especially his lighthearted sprints onto the court before warmups. It's become a fan-favorite tradition in Denver, and now international fans are getting in on the fun.

Why was Nikola Jokic in China?

Jokic’s trip to China was part of a promotional tour arranged by 361 Degrees, a Chinese sportswear brand he partnered with in 2023. The five-day visit gave fans in Asia a rare chance to see the Serbian star up close and his antics, including his now-famous sprint, didn’t disappoint.

Jokic prepares for a huge NBA 2025/26 season

Jokic is preparing for what could be a pivotal season with the Denver Nuggets. uring the off season the team brought in in Cam Johnson and veteran center Jonas Valanciunas to strengthen the supporting cast around Jokic and co-star Jamal Murray.

Jokic also finds himself at a crossroads contractually. Though eligible for an extension this summer, the 6-foot-11 center reportedly declined to sign one, opting instead to wait until next offseason when he could command an even more lucrative deal. He holds a player option for the 2027-28 season but is widely expected to re-sign with Denver long-term.

Jokic's performance in 2024/25 season

The reigning Finals MVP had a remarkable 2024-25 season, posting averages of 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 10.2 assists per game. His shooting efficiency remained elite 57.6% from the field, 41.7% from beyond the arc, and 80% from the free-throw line. Despite finishing second in MVP voting, Jokic extended his incredible streak to five straight years placing in the top two a run not seen since Celtics legend Larry Bird.
