Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu, in a series of posts on micro-blogging website X expressed his thoughts on the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan."An eye for an eye makes the world blind," Rayudu said.

Rayudu was massively slammed by netizens for his post. Soon after this, he posted a couple of tweets on X.

The former India player said, "Prayers for peace and safety in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab and other parts of India along the border. Hoping for strength, security and swift resolution for everyone affected. Jai Hind!"

Rayudu, then in another tweet explained the intent behind his previous tweet, that attracted massive backlash. Saying that, "This isn’t a call for weakness, but a reminder of wisdom."

Calling for unity and expressing gratitude for the armed forces, Rayudu said, "In moments like these, we stand united not in fear, but in resolve. I feel immense gratitude to our Indian Army who are the real heroes who carry the weight of a nation with unmatched courage, discipline, and selflessness."

He further said, "Your sacrifices don't go unnoticed. Your bravery is what keeps the tricolour flying high and our borders safe. May your strength always lead us to safety, and may your service continue to pave the way for a more peaceful tomorrow. Jai Hind."

Earlier in the day, an IPL match in Dharamsala was called off midway through the game and spectators were asked to evacuate the stadium. According to an official BCCI statement, the abandonment was due to a "significant technical failure" at the HPCA Stadium. "Due to a power outage in the area, one of the light towers at the HPCA stadium malfunctioned. BCCI regrets the inconvenience caused to in-stadium attendees," the board's release stated.
