Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder, Ramandeep Singh spilled beans on his teammates getting engaged in heavy betting on virtual games during their off-time. Speaking on a YouTube podcast with Raj Shamani, the 27-year-old disclosed that the KKR squad bets large amounts while playing FIFA and poker in the 'gaming room' designated for IPL players.

Singh named several players, including former teammates Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana, Vaibhav Arora, and Vivek Singh, as some of the best FIFA players in the squad. He said,“No one can beat Vivek Singh in FIFA,”. The bets, he revealed, start at ₹20,000 25,000 and can go as high as ₹1 lakh per game.

Ramandeep candidly went on to explain the betting culture: “Yes, we bet a lot on each other. People lose a lot and win a lot. Shreyas plays FIFA very well. Vivek plays very well. No one can beat him. It's stupid to bet against them. I used to play with Vaibhav Arora and Suyash Sharma. Nitish Rana also plays very well. I used to play with him as well.” However, the stakes are even higher when it comes to poker.

Singh said the cricketers play these games on their rest days or after a tiring match.

Ramandeep wants to emulate Yuvraj Singh

Ramandeep, currently playing for the Knight Riders, remained unbeaten on 6 as KKR lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2025 opener on Saturday. However he has set sights on one of the records set by India's finest all-rounder Yuvraj Singh which is hitting six sixes in an over.

Following in Yuvraj's footsteps, Ramandeep has twice come close to emulating his idol's milestone. Ramandeep struck five sixes in an over during the Sher-e-Punjab tournament – twice – but has been unable to land the knockout blow.

Speaking on the podcast he said,"I really want to smash six sixes in an over. Not because I have to break Yuvraj’s record or anything like that. What he's done is remarkable. I don't know what happens on the sixth ball. I am missing something. He [Yuvraj] knows that it's written. It will happen if and when it has to,"
