Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli had a fiery exchange with Punjab Kings' spinner Harpreet Brar during the IPL 2025 clash on Sunday in Mullanpur. In the video surfaced on social media, the 36-year-old was heard saying '20 saal ho gaye, tere coach ko bhi jaanta hoon' as it was caught on stump mic.
Brar, the left-arm spinner, possesses a good record against the Royal Challengers and notably delivered a good performance against them in 2021, dismissing Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers to fashion a 34-run victory. Although Brar finished with respectable figures of 4-0-27-1, dismissing Devdutt Padikkal for 61, he couldn't do much damage and Punjab eventually lost.

"When you go from eight points to ten, it makes a massive difference" - Virat Kohli
With Kohli staying unbeaten at 73 off 54 deliveries and earning the Player of the Match award, the right-handed batter underlined the importance of the contest and that it was all about partnerships. He said at the post-match presentation:
"Very important game for us. When you go from eight points to ten, it makes a massive difference. We've set ourselves up nicely... Dev can play around me, maybe Rajat can play around me. There's always a temptation to keep going the same way. First two games we had learnings, and last game was a shortened game. We know in a run chase in T20 cricket, one partnership is enough. If need be, I can accelerate."
