Washington DC: An American private aerospace firm on Thursday released breathtaking visuals of the lunar surface. Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost has captured spectacular visuals of the Moon. The visuals are reportedly captured approximately 100 km above the lunar surface. The visuals, captured during the spacecraft's orbit around the celestial body, provide a detailed view of the Moon's surface.

Notably,  the Blue Ghost will land at Mare Crisium, on the near side of the Moon, on March 2. The Moon has a cratered surface. The spacecraft was launched on January 15 this year aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. It started orbiting around the Moon on February 13.

"The Moon is so close, we can taste it! New footage from @Firefly_Space shows their lunar lander's view from 60 miles (100 km) above the Moon. Blue Ghost will land at Mare Crisium, on the near side of the Moon, on March 2, no earlier than 3:34am ET (0834 UTC)," said NASA.

Here Are The Spectacular Visuals Of Lunar Surface:

This mission is part of the space agency's Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) initiative, supporting three missions to the Moon in 2025, 2026, and 2028.

The visuals show the far side of the celestial body, which is not seen from the Earth.

"Firefly’s Blue Ghost lander is designed and built to be easily adapted to serve each customer’s unique cislunar needs. Our vertically integrated approach with shared components across our vehicles further enables scaled efficiencies, quality assurance, and lower costs," Firefly's official website reads.
