In a strange incident in the Pimpri Chinchwad area, residents of Premlok Park were left stunned when water started flowing from the trunk of a tree on Friday night. Residents flocked to the spot, calling it a divine sign—some claimed the tree was crying, others believed it was ‘amritdhara’.
People garlanded the tree, applied turmeric, and even started collecting the water, believing it had healing powers. Videos and photos of the event quickly went viral on social media.
However, some rational-minded citizens grew suspicious and alerted the fire brigade. An investigation by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s Water Supply Department revealed that an old underground pipeline had burst, and the water was simply escaping through the tree trunk that had grown above it.
A local elder summed it up humorously, “There’s no harm in faith, but if water flows from a tree, check the tap first. You may not find God, but you’ll definitely find the leak.”
