Pune was severely waterlogged on Tuesday following intense rainfall that lashed the city. From Kothrud and Viman Nagar to Dhayari, Hinjawadi, and Hadapsar, almost every major area witnessed significant waterlogging, leading to traffic chaos and commuter distress.

In response to the worsening civic conditions, workers from the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) staged a unique boat protest in the Manjari area. Led by Gajendra Baba More, the protesters rowed boats through the flooded streets to highlight the failure of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and PMRDA in managing drainage and infrastructure.

The symbolic protest drew public attention and reportedly threw the local administration into a state of chaos, underscoring growing frustration over the city’s poor monsoon preparedness.

Severe traffic jams and waterlogging were reported in Pune after heavy rain on Tuesday. Many Punekars were stuck in traffic for hours without water or access to restrooms, especially in areas like Hinjawadi and Sinhagad Road. The newly-opened Sinhagad Road Flyover also experienced heavy congestion. Additionally, road cave-ins were reported on Warje and Satara Road.
