A twin murder at Madani Chowk in the Jinsi area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar has shocked the entire city. A man killed two persons within just two minutes by brutally crushing their faces. The deceased have been identified as Shaikh Salman Aaref Khan (30) and his brother-in-law Sultan Shaikh Isa (17), both residents of Baijipura. The accused has been identified as Shaikh Asif Shaikh Hafiz (24), a resident of Sillod.
According to the details, Asif is a notorious goon from Sillod and had a friendship with Salman. Salman had taken Asif's motorcycle and given it to Sultan for some time. However, the city police caught Sultan while riding the motorcycle without a licence. As the owner of the motorcycle, the police cornered Asif and used to call him frequently for inquiry. Asif got annoyed with Salman and Sultan over the incident.
On Friday at midnight, Asif called Salman’s brother Zuber Khan and told him that the police were after him due to Sultan, and he would not spare him. On Saturday at around 6:15am, Asif went to Madani Chowk, where Salman and Sultan were sleeping in a tin shed. He then crushed their heads and faces with a heavy stone.
Asif is a notorious goon and used to terrorise people. In 2016, his brother was murdered, and Asif killed the accused for revenge. He was in prison for six years. Several cases of theft, robbery, and other offences have been registered against him with the Sillod and Jinsi police stations.
