Some unidentified robbers stole gold and silver ornaments from the house of industrialist Santosh Laddha in the Bajajnagar area. Three days have passed now, but the police are still clueless about the robbers. Laddha’s house was robbed on May 15. Laddha and his family had gone to the US for the convocation ceremony of his son. There was only a caretaker, Sanjay Zalke, who was alone in the house. At around 2 a.m., the robbers entered the house from a balcony using a ladder. They threatened Zalke at gunpoint and stole gold and silver ornaments amounting to around Rs 8 crore. The robbers later fled in a white car. The entire incident was captured on the CCTV camera. A case has been registered with the Waluj MIDC police station. CP Praveen Pawar has handed over the investigation of the case to the crime branch. Waluj MIDC police and the crime branch are investigating the case parallelly, but no success has been gained in tracing the robbers yet.
The police have so far interrogated 14 persons, including Zalke, workers from Laddha’s company, and history-sheeters. The CCTV cameras of the surrounding areas are also being checked.
