As summer intensifies, the number of vehicle fire cases is increasing. In one such mishap, an AC Volvo bus caught fire near Khed Shivapur on the Pune-Satara Highway on Thursday morning.
The fire prompted panic among passengers. As flames erupted suddenly, passengers jumped out of the vehicle to save themselves.

The visuals of the fire have gone viral, in which you can see smoke and flames engulfing the bus. The fire led to a huge crowd and a traffic jam on the Pune-Satara Highway.
Recently in Karad Tehsil of Satara, a two-wheeler motorcycle suddenly caught fire at Patan Tikatana in Umbraj, Taluka Karad, on Monday, Apr 14, around 4.30pm.
The motorcyclist had a close shave as the two-wheeler burnt to ashes.
The motorcyclist was going to the market from Charegaon to Umbraj and came to the subway at Patan Tikatana when the vehicle suddenly caught fire. Upon realising the fire, the motorcyclist abandoned the motorcycle and fled. At this time, locals tried to extinguish the fire with the help of water. However, the fire quickly spread.

Precautions to take to avoid vehicle fire
Regularly service and maintain your vehicle.
Check for oil or fuel leaks and get them repaired immediately.
Avoid overloading the vehicle, especially with flammable items.
Ensure electrical wiring is intact and not exposed or damaged.
Do not leave flammable items like lighters, aerosols, or batteries in direct sunlight.
Install a fire extinguisher in your vehicle and know how to use it.
Avoid smoking inside the vehicle.
Keep the engine bay clean and free from debris or grease buildup.
Use genuine parts and avoid poor-quality modifications.
Turn off the engine while refueling and avoid using a mobile phone at fuel stations.
