A man in Pune was bitten by a stray dog sitting at the gate of a housing society as the man was entering. The incident was caught on video.

According to the video, the incident occurred on April 6 in the Pimpri Waghere area.

In the video, one can see the man being bitten by the dog as he entered the main gate of the society. Even as the man tried to save himself, the dog continued to bite him and did not let him go easily.

In Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, stray dogs pose a constant threat to residents.

Between January and November of 2024, 23,374 city residents were assaulted by dogs. In response to these alarming numbers, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) decided to increase awareness and offer financial and medical assistance to victims of dog attacks. However, there have been no updates on the implementation of these measures. Recently, the number of stray dogs in Pune has increased, with some of them attacking people during the day, further raising concerns about public safety.
