Vinay Patankar, Senior Police Inspector (Kondhwa Police station), speaking to The Free Press Journal said, "Ganesh Rakhpasare had parked his car on the public road in front of Sana Hospital near Gausiya Hotel in Kausar Baug, Kondhwa. The hotel staff did not allow him to park his car in front of the hotel. While an argument was happening between the hotel staff and Rakhpasare, Shaikh approached and asked Rakhpasare, 'Why are you staring at me?'"
In no time, a heated argument broke out between Rakhpasare and Shaikh. Shaikh attacked Rakhpasare with a sharp weapon. Following the incident, Rakhpasare called his brother, and they attacked Shaikh. Both men sustained serious injuries to the head and were shifted to Sassoon General Hospital for medical treatment. Both have been booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Meanwhile, the car that Rakhpasare was driving had a 'police' plate on it. When asked about this, Patankar said, "The owner of the car is a retired police officer who runs a private security agency. Rakhpasare worked as a driver for him." However, this raises the question of how a retired police officer can have a 'police' plate on his car.
