The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has started the land acquisition for the inner ring road project.

For the uninitiated, it is the Pune district’s second ring road after the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Limited’s (MSRDC) outer ring road.

Pune district collector Jitendra Dudy has informed that a 25% bonus will be given to landowners who voluntarily give up their land as per the Land Acquisition Act. The land acquisition for the first and second phases is expected to be completed by May. The 83-km inner ring road project is expected to cost around ₹14,200 crore.

Project details:

Reducing traffic on Ahmednagar Road is the goal of the first phase, which runs from Solu to Wadgaon Shinde.

The proposal is for 44 villages spread over the talukas of Khed, Haveli, Mulshi, and Maval, totaling 743.41 hectares. With 42 connecting roads, 17 bridges, and 10 tunnels, the 83-kilometer inner ring road will link Pune-Satara Road and Ahmednagar Road. Metro rails will occupy a 5-meter-wide area.
