On account of Angarki Chaturthi on Tuesday, the Pune Traffic Police have imposed temporary traffic restrictions in the city.
This is done with the anticipation that thousands of people would visit the Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple on Chhatrapati Shivaji Road in the central part of Pune.
To prevent traffic congestion, Chhatrapati Shivaji Road will remain closed for vehicles from 7 am onwards.
According to Himmat Jadhav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Traffic, no vehicle heading towards Swargate will be allowed to use Chhatrapati Shivaji Road. Instead, they will have to use the Bajirao Road.
Additionally, vehicles will not be allowed to travel from Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk. They will have to take Abhinav Chowk (Puram Chowk) - Tilak Road - Alka Talkies Chowk - FC Road.
Moreover, vehicles going from Abhinav Chowk (Puram Chowk) to Shivajinagar will also have to take an alternate route of SG Barve Chowk - Jangali Maharaj Chowk - Khandoji Baba Chowk - Tilak Chowk - Tilak Road.
