In a tragic event, a 23-year-old man took his own life by jumping from the 7th floor of Atlas Copco GECIA in Hinjawadi Phase 1.
The deceased has been identified as Piyush Kawade, a resident of Wakad and originally from Nashik. According to Senior Police Inspector Balaji Pandhare, who heads the Hinjawadi Police Station, Kawade had been employed as an engineer at the company for the past year.
He was design engineer at the firm.

A suicide note was found at the scene, indicating that the incident was indeed a case of self-harm. An Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been filed with the Hinjawadi Police.
Sources within the company stated that Kawade was in a meeting when he suddenly experienced an emotional crisis. He reportedly complained of chest pain and left the meeting abruptly. Moments later, he jumped from the 7th floor, leading to his instant death.
Hinjawadi Police have initiated a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
3rd such case
This is 3rd such known suicide of a professional in Pune in past few months. In June, a 28-year-old junior doctor of at the Ruby Hall Clinic allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Pune. The deceased was identified as Dr Shyam Vhora. He was found hanging at his house in the Dhole Patil Road area late.
Just few weeks before that, a 25-year-old IT professional died by suicide by jumping from the 21st floor of a residential building where her friend resided in Pune's Hinjawadi area. The deceased was identified as Abhilasha Bhausaheb Kothimbhire. She took her life in the Hinjawadi area on May 31, and an accidental death report was registered.
The woman reached the Crown Green Society on a two-wheeler. She then went to her friend's place on the 21st floor and subsequently jumped from there.
She took the lift to the 21st floor and is believed to have jumped shortly after, around 4:42 am. Her body was later identified through the two-wheeler found in the parking area.
